Construction manner of woven articles
Despite the development and change of the conditions from time to time in the case of weaving the basic manner of production remains unchanged in the passing of the centuries. The tools (distaff, spindle, loom), the technique (spinning, dyeing, weaving) but also the style (formation, abstraction, symmetry) have basically remained the same.
The types of looms, upright and horizontal or seated are known to us from the time of Homer and continue their activity with a very slow evolution.
The materials used are wool, flax, cotton, rush even silk, depending on the time and the socio-economic needs called upon for each woven article to cover.
